Overview

Out in the deep desert, where the sand swallows the ruins of the old world, the Infected Hoarders roam. Once scavengers that picked the dunes clean, they were bloated and maddened by the corruption that seeped up from the buried tombs — now they shamble across the wastes gorging on carrion, too far gone to do anything but lash out at the living, gurgling "BURGhhh?" as they lurch closer. They hit hard and heal fast, and there is rarely just one; a careless hunter can find themselves surrounded before the heat-haze clears. They are the desert's warning that the infection did not stay underground. Where the Hoarders wander, the sand itself feels sick, and the tombs below are worse. Seasoned adventurers thin them for steady coin and the rare demonic essence they carry, but only the well-supplied linger long under that sun.
