Fishing

Fishing in Adventures of Raptor is a full progression system — not just a skill grind. Cast your rod into water or plunge a spear into lava and you'll hook increasingly dangerous sea creatures that fight back, drop loot, and earn you Fishing Commendations. Higher fishing skill and player level unlock rarer catches, and Fishing Scrolls boost your odds even further.

Rods: Regular · Raptorian · Spec · Lava Spear

Fishing Rods

Icon Rod Rarity Rod Type Fishes In Source
Regular Fishing Rod Common Water Water tiles Starting gear
Raptorian Fishing Rod Legendary Water (upgraded) Water tiles Dell (Raptor Coins)
File:Spec fishing rod.png Spec Fishing Rod Legendary Water (spec) Water tiles Dell (Raptor Coins)
Heat Resistant Spear Legendary Lava Lava tiles Dell (Raptor Coins)
  • The Regular Rod catches fewer creature types and has lower catch rates than the Raptorian and Spec rods.
  • The Raptorian Rod unlocks additional creatures (Amphitrite, Mature Blood Crab, Ophion, The Lurker, Aquafilus) and has significantly better catch rates across the board.
  • The Heat Resistant Spear is required for lava fishing — water rods do not work on lava tiles.
  • All rods are infinite use (no worms required).

Fishing Scrolls

Fishing Scrolls temporarily boost your catch rate. Only one scroll can be active at a time. Scrolls also unlock access to scroll-exclusive creatures that cannot be caught without an active scroll.

Scroll Duration Catch Boost Boost Multiplier
Fishing Scroll (4-Hour) 4 hours +50% 1.5×
Fishing Scroll (10-Minute) 10 minutes +80% 1.8×
  • The boost multiplies the base catch chance of every creature.
  • Higher fishing skill further increases your catch rate on top of the scroll bonus.

How Catch Chance Works

Every cast, the game rolls a random number and checks it against each creature's base chance, modified by two factors:

  • Scroll Boost — if a scroll is active, all base chances are multiplied by the scroll's boost (1.5× or 1.8×).
  • Skill Modifier — your fishing skill improves your odds. The formula is: 1 + ((FishingSkill − 100) / 200). At fishing skill 100 this is 1.0× (no bonus); at 200 it's 1.5×; at 300 it's 2.0×.

Creatures are checked from rarest to most common. You must meet both the minimum level and minimum fishing skill for a creature to appear. Use !fishinfo in-game to see your current skill, catch multiplier, and progress to next level.

Water Fishing — Regular Rod

The basic rod. Good for getting started, but you'll want to upgrade to the Raptorian Rod as soon as possible.

Water Fishing — Raptorian Rod

The upgraded rod. Higher catch rates across the board and access to 4 additional creatures not available with the regular rod: Amphitrite, Mature Blood Crab, Ophion, The Lurker, and Aquafilus.

Lava Fishing

Requires the Heat Resistant Spear and a lava tile. Lava creatures tend to be tougher and rarer than their water counterparts at similar level thresholds.

Scroll-Exclusive Catches

These creatures only appear when a Fishing Scroll is active (either the 4-hour or 10-minute scroll). They are available on top of the normal catch table — the scroll must be active and you must meet the level and skill requirements.

Fishing Tips

  • Level up your fishing skill — higher skill directly increases catch chance via the skill modifier. Every 200 points above 100 doubles your odds.
  • Use scrolls strategically — the 10-minute scroll has a stronger boost (1.8× vs 1.5×) but is short-lived. Save it for focused grinding sessions. The 4-hour scroll is better for passive AFK fishing.
  • Upgrade your rod — the Raptorian Rod has roughly 50% better catch rates than the Regular Rod and unlocks 5 extra creatures.
  • Watch for broadcasts — rare catches (Megladon and above) trigger server-wide broadcast messages. These creatures are powerful — be ready for a fight.
  • Catch creatures with a bowl — use a Fishing Bowl on certain high-tier fishing creatures to capture them.
  • Fish outside protection zones — you cannot fish inside a PZ.

Notes

  • Broadcast column: "Fishing Channel" means the catch is announced in the Fishing chat channel (channel 12). "Server Broadcast" means all players see an orange server message.
  • Rarity is a suggested classification based on catch chance from the server scripts. Very Common and Common creatures appear frequently; Epic and Legendary creatures may take hundreds or thousands of casts.
  • Icons: upload each as File:<name>.png; can be batch-exported from Tibia.spr/.dat.
